Application of photoelectric detection and laser strike technology in UAV counter system

     Civil UAV and other "low slow small" targets have the characteristics of low flying altitude, slow speed, small size, and high concealment and mobility flexibility, which bring great difficulties to the search and discovery of the countermeasures system. Moreover, the "low slow small" target has low cost, low use and support cost. It can use the "aircraft sea tactics" to break through the defense, which also brings great difficulties to the disposal and interception of the counter system.


     Photoelectric detection technology is one of many means to detect "low slow small" targets for police. It has the advantages of radio silence, fast response, high positioning accuracy and visual detection results. However, due to the small size of "low slow small" target and its low visible and infrared radiation characteristics, the detection distance through visible and infrared detection is greatly shortened.


     At the same time, photoelectric detection technology is greatly affected by weather visibility and humidity, so environmental factors should be fully considered in practical use. Subsequently, for the detection of "low slow small" targets, the signal processing level needs to be further improved. Based on the existing detector hardware, the detection range and detection probability of the system need to be further improved, so as to adapt to more scene applications.


    In recent years, laser strike technology has been tried and applied to intercept low altitude UAV targets. Laser defense of low altitude UAV targets has the following advantages:



1. High speed and high precision. It takes a very short time for the laser beam to reach its target, and the trajectory is not considered;


2. It has both soft and hard killing ability. It can blind the sensor on the "low slow small" target and make it not work normally. It can also destroy its shell structure and destroy it directly;


3. Strong ability to destroy the strong. It can breakdown and melt all kinds of metal and nonmetal materials;


4. High efficiency cost ratio. The cost of laser emission is very low, and only part of the equipment is damaged each time;


5. Continuous interception and attack can be carried out on a target, which can significantly improve the probability of target interception. However, in view of the technical level of the laser striking system and the manufacturing cost of the key components, the cost of the laser striking system is relatively high at present, so the manufacturing cost of the system should be reduced in the future, so as to facilitate the wide application.
